Sennelier Oil Sticks allow oil painting to be approached differently: enjoy spontaneity and expressive, broad strokes. Layers can be overlapped and like regular oil paint, they can be diluted with turpentine and dry to a hard film. ## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can these be used for encaustic painting?**
A: They can be used as shading and color addition after the encaustic wax has been applied  heated abd cooled.  For encaustic you must use beeswax infused with color or just clear encaustic beeswax !   So fun especially silly if your doing a mixed media piece.     You tube has great beginner videos.

**Q: How do these oil sticks differ from oil pastels?**
A: These are actual oil paint, so they will dry to a hard film as you see in an oil painting. Oil Pastels never really dry.

**Q: are they all black or different colors?**
A: Thank you for pointing out this typo. We will have it corrected. The 6-Color Cardboard Set includes one each of titanium white, ivory black, primary yellow, primary red, primary blue and viridian.

**Q: are these the same as oil pastels or are they like the oil sticks from R&F?**
A: These are like the R&F Oil Sticks. Oil paint in crayon, oil pastel form. Has a drier to dry the paint quicker. Oil pastels do not dry fyi.
