I presume so but want to know for sure?** A: I believe you can only do a software RAID 0 or 1, but this card is really NOT meant for that! It is the best way to give your ssd a sata 6.0 connection on an older motherboard. Also, you only want to connect ONE ssd to this card to get the maximum speed! **Q: support recent 6 tb hard drive ?** A: It works with 4 TB drives so I imagine it will but can't say for sure. **Q: Is this mac compatible? What are maximum speeds if used in a x16 PCI-E 1.0 slot?** A: this card is for a ibm compatable...it uses 4 pci-e lanes so it is 4 time the speed of pic-e 1 lane...pci=e 1.0 is 250 meg per lane so x 4 1gb.i dont think mac is hardware compatable **Q: can this card plug in to a pcie 3.0 x 16_2 slot?** A: Yes it can, but really it's an issue with your motherboard (e.g. what populating the 16_2 does to the 16_1 slot) Since the Rocket 640L only uses 4 lanes and since PCIe 3.0 is backwards compatible to accept PCIe 2.0 and so on.
