On compact models you still have a full grip. The Browning 22/380 is a lot smaller **Q: What is it for ?** A: It is for recoil reduction for rifles and shotguns. Browning makes shirts and jackets with a pocket sewn inside where the gel pad can be inserted while you shooting/hunting. It is a great help for those that flinch on anticipated recoil from large calibers. It it flexible, and does a great job at reducing felt recoil **Q: Can this be cut to fit the vest pocket?** A: you shouldn't need to cut the pad. it fits perfectly in a browning vest and I would think that if used in another brand the pocket should be close in size.
