Review: Excellent little machine! - Overall awesome. Haven’t had it long enough to know if it’s gonna give up the ghost, but so far, so good. Was able to accomplish exactly what I wanted it to. I bought it primarily to sew reinforced plastic to a zipper, to create a zippered opening for a greenhouse. The plastic covering was already installed and the zipper was supposed to just stick on, but the glue didn’t hold up well enough and needed to be reinforced. Couldn’t take it down to sew it, so we bought this little tool. Worked beautifully! Some of the loops didn’t pick up on the back side, but I think it’s because the zipper’s adhesive might have been gumming up the machine a bit.
Review: Poor design, tough to use, breaks easily - This machine is very poorly designed. First off, just loading the batteries was a pain - the compartment is barely big enough, and getting the lid to slide and close was next to impossible. Next, the pressure plate is a pain to lift - and you almost need three hands to do that without at the same time depressing the sewing arm and stabbing yourself with the needle. If you can get past that, threading the machine is not too terrible, as long as you have decent fine motor skills and very good vision. Fine - that's pretty standard for any sewing machine. However, positioning the fabric to sew is tricky, and you really have to practice to even get a marginally straight line. There's no reverse on this machine, so you have to manually tie off the stitch and hope it holds. Lastly, my machine stopped actually stitching after a couple of successful seams. It does the stitching motion, but the thread does not catch, so it's basically just putting holes in the fabric. And after half an hour of messing with the tiny tension knob, nothing changed. So I was unable to actually use this for anything. It pisses me off that Singer attached its name to this cheap paperweight. I would imagine that someone out there can design a handheld machine that actually works and is not such a pain to use. I'd pay $40-$50 for something like that. This was total waste of $23 plus tax.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I am confused. there are five star reviews and Sooo many one star reviews with problems. Who do I believe?**
A: It works ok for hems and light fabric. Don’t use it on blue jean material because it’s not strong enough. It stops when using it on heavy material. You have to start and stop it then start again to keep it sewing. It works decent though. Make sure you pull the last stitch back and then tie a knot or the whole thread will pull right out. Basic sewing 101.

**Q: Is this a good item for a young girl to make doll clothes and small craft items.**
A: I suppose it would depend on how young the young girl is and how mature she is for that age. I recall, at 12 or 13 running a few stitches on my mom's sewing machine, with supervision so I didn't break her machine or sew my hand to the cloth. However, at the same age, and with this "stitch/sew quick", I would have probably taken it outside and smashed it with a ball bat out of frustration.

**Q: will i be able to hem cargo pants?**
A: It should be able to handle cargo pants. It is a basic stitch mini sewing machine. I bought it sew patches on a cub scout uniform but I never actually used it. http://www.hayneedle.com/images/PDF/MICL002.pdf

**Q: Can this stitch webbing?**
A: Probably not, this machine uses a single thread stitch and needs to be tied to hold the stitch.
