Designed for ages 8 and up, it offers quick 15-20 minute matches on a compact 5x5 board. Players alternate moves using unique animal spirit cards to outmaneuver opponents by capturing pawns or reaching the enemy temple. Celebrated for its simplicity and depth, Onitama won the 2016 UK Games Expo Best Abstract Game and boasts high-quality components for a luxurious gameplay experience. ## Description Each player has two open cards that each display a possible move for any of his pieces. There is a fifth card that cannot be used by either player. On a player's turn, he chooses one of his cards, moves one of his pieces according to the chosen card, then replaces the card he used with the fifth card. The other player then chooses one of his cards, moves accordingly, and exchanges that card with this fifth card — which is, of course, the card the first player just used. Moving onto one of the opponent's pawns removes that pawn from the game. Taking the opponent's main pawn, or moving your main pawn into your opponent's main pawn's starting space, wins you the game. ## Features - 2 Players, 15-20 Minutes, Age:8+ - Assert your martial prowess as you harness the power of the Animal spirits. - Onitama is an elegant and simple two player abstract strategy game where you take on the role of a Master, guiding your monk followers, in an attempt to defeat your opponent - On a 5x5 board, both players start with five pawns on their side ( 1 master and 4 monks), with the master in the temple. - Kill all your opponents pawns or make your Master pawn reach your opponents temple to win the game. - Armed only with a handful of moves, your cunning, and your wits, have you the skill to be victorious? - Abstract strategy game themed on Martial arts. - 2016 UK Games Expo Best Abstract Game Winner ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B01C05HZB4 | | Are Batteries Required | No | | Battery Types | No batteries required | | Best Sellers Rank | #122,737 in Toys & Games ( See Top 100 in Toys & Games ) #4,138 in Board Games | | Brand | Arcane Wonders | | CPSIA Cautionary Statement | Choking Hazard - Small Parts, No Warning Applicable | | Character | (-) | | Colour | Peach | | Country of Origin | China | | Customer Reviews | 4.8 4.8 out of 5 stars (2,537) | | Edition | Standard Edition | | Estimated Playing Time | 15 Minutes | | Genre | Strategy | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00066121658124, 00853211004325 | | Importer Contact Information | Boardway India, Ground Floor, 14A Nand Dham Industrial Premises CO-OP Society LTD, Reay Road Mumbai City 400010.
