Instead of the material itself being black, it has a black coating (including the metal). Sucks because it chips and looks awful in the pretty fast. So I had to buy a new case a few months after because it bothered me. It didn't bother me too much till I bought a new case. The new case was packaged perfectly but it was somehow still missing a piece on the back (seen in the picture.) Easy to install and de-install phone. Finger hold was pretty tight at first but after a couple of uses, easy to pop out.
