Gel, ball point and especially colored pencils 'love' the tooth on this paper. A light touch and even watercolor brush pens can work nicely…(The tip: use light pressure... heavy pressure, too wet or multiple crossovers did show through to varying degrees)Even though this journal was not meant for "artistic use," all in all it did very nicely in that application. I especially like the sewn binding,finished edges and lay flat pages…Good price for this size and quality..I bought two. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great quality...but not "navy blue" as per description. *by R***N on Reviewed in the United States on October 1, 2016* Nice journal. Lots of high quality thick pages. Bound well. The only thing I did not love was the color. It was described as "navy blue" but it definitely is more of a purple blue or a dark periwinkle. It would be perfect in dark brown or black. I know color seems like a small thing but it was for a business man and color matters. We will just use it at home and use a black one for business purposes. A true navy blue would have been acceptable for business purposes.
