This does not work. I just tried it while there is no pairing processes and either transmitter can be used with either receiver, when two transmitters are set to the same channel at the same time there is a ton of loud interference noises and the audio cuts in and out. It doesn't work properly. **Q: will it work with other 3.5mm microphones?** A: Yes. I've tried several brands of lavalier microphones without issue. Keep in mind, I don't find the overall audio quality or transmission strength and distance very good. The system works, but it isn't a great value for the performance I got. Also, I tried two systems and the second was actually worse than the first. **Q: Does this kit come with a way to plug the receiver into a something with XLR?** A: no, just 3.5mm cables for camera and phone ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars The Fotowelt AIR is an AMAZING size for a wireless lapel mic system with a few little quirks... *by T***L on Reviewed in the United States on July 30, 2020* The media could not be loaded.  I love the size of this little wireless lapel microphone set! Fits awesome in my small camera bag and works excellent with my Sony FDR-AX53 once I locked in on some good settings. The major win for the system for me was its size and price tag for what you are getting, also the fact that it didn't have any external antennas. I tested its range and I was very pleased in a high frequency radio station I was able to get some really great range.There are some small quirks with this system I noticed like the fact that audio defaults to one setting every time you turn the system on. So that means everything needs to be adjusted to work every time you turn it on. Also noticed it only came with one Type C USB cable. I would have liked to have seen two and a "wall wart" to plug them both in to. But all in all I had an extra type c laying around and also have a ton of USB hubs so charging them at the same time wasnt an issue for me. I still think it was well worth the purchase as long as you know how to prepare for the best experience of using them.I tested the system in a bunch of different environments and noise situations and it stood the test very well across the board. The microphone built into the transmitter box is VERY directional, so it will notice if you turn your head as you talk if you clip it to your shirt, and it is also very sensitive so if you "hand hold" it make sure you keep your hand still and don't "shuffle" it around.Plenty of pros on this, I continue to come back to its size, and the fact that it has a TON of channels. I have yet to have feedback on channel one but if needed its easy to jump to another channel. And also being able to use multiple units as long as you have a way to splice them into an audio system allows this to be very useful for multi person interviews.I'm very pleased and selling off my old set with ducky antennas to a friend because this meets my needs pretty well. I noticed a few other things but I mentioned those for the most part in the video I'm attaching with this review. Its a win for me as long as you know how to set it up to work for your needs. ### ⭐ 1.0 out of 5 stars Sound cuts out; Had to Return *by R***. on Reviewed in the United States on October 21, 2020* I needed a wireless mic setup for a GoPro camera and decided to go with this because it was half the price of the Rode Wireless. But after several tests with this Fotowelt in which the sound dropped out and was super choppy, I returned it and got the Rode mic, instead. (Side note: The Rode Wireless mic is amazing! Great quality, super clear, easy to use.)The Fotowelt was not consistently transmitting and receiving sound even when the mic and receiver were a foot apart. The experience was the same whether I was right next to the camera or if I walked 10 feet away. The audio would drop out for entire words and sometimes phrases. It was completely useless. I tried using other channels, but that didn't help, either.Unfortunately, this is an example of getting what I paid for. The price was indeed too good to be true. It's not a quality product. My recommendation if you're looking for an easy wireless mic setup: go with the Rode. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Simple, straight forward, gets the job done *by P***H on Reviewed in the United States on January 18, 2020* This is a simple solution for someone looking for something that simply works. Someone who doesn't want to be bothered with a menu filled with features. Instead, it features enough channels (36) to get you through most situations, and enough battery life (up to 6 hours) to make it through a single shoot. Much better battery life than some of the more intense lav solutions that tend to eat up AA batteries. The Air doesn't need any batteries as both units have built-in batteries that charge via USB Type-C.Getting this in the mail, the box looked like it had been stepped on or something (those gold 'ol delivery companies), but thankfully the kit comes in a nice protective case. So we didn't have anything to worry about. The units are light in weight, much better than a normal lav kit. They come with all of the cables you need to connect them to any device (TRS and TRRS solutions), including smartphones, tablets, computers, DSLRs and so forth. The screen is easy to read and navigate using the three buttons on each unit.It's quite similar actually to the Rode Wireless GO option, only cheaper. Much cheaper if you get it on sale. An absolutely perfect solution within the $100 range.You have the option of clipping the transmitter to your subject/source thanks to a built-in microphone that doesn't sound bad at all, or clipping it to their belt and running a lav (provided). There isn't much difference between the lav and the built-in mic outside of getting a little more warmth with the lav, where the built-in mic is crisper with less of a focus on the lows. If you aren't going on camera, it is nice to simply slap the transmitter on someone and run with it. We do advise if you subject/source is going to be moving around, to go with the lav in order to reduce the chance of noise from it rubbing around (due to the movement).It does come with a cold-shoe mount so that you can mount the receiver easily to a DSLR or similar solution, so there isn't anything you need to run out and buy. It is all-inclusive and it sounds pretty good for the price.Range is also nice since you can get pretty far away without any cutouts.Everything works right out of the box and if you are looking to keep things simple and inexpensive, this is a great way of pulling that off.
