I purchased the adhesive spray to help and there is 0 chance I could have done this without it. If I could do it over I'd have started at the very top left and worked my way across then down. I started at the bottom and that made the top very difficult. I ended up cutting the stencil but then had trouble lining it up in some parts...So the finished product certainly isn't perfect, but the average person isn't going to spend a lot of time looking at this wall (it's my entryway) so I'm not splitting hairs over it. It was significantly cheaper than if I would have wallpapered. For reference my walls are repose gray (flat) and I mixed my bright white SW trim paint with a creamy yellowish white SW paint (can't remember the name) to get the color. The sheen of the ferns off the flat gray paint looks really nice in the light. It gives it dimension.
