PowerStation PSX-3 18Ah Jumpstarter with Air Compressor and DC Outlet and USB Port - New Model 2013

I bought this unit to replace an aging but very good Black and Decker unit. That unit lasted me about 4 to 5 years with fairly frequent use.I took it to work on bad days to ensure employee's cars can start, I use it regularly to keep my vehicles tires inflated and used it for a while as a portable RC power source in the field and before I had an AC wall adapter to charge the batteries. In short it was a great unit and worked extremely well even when I saw it start failing it still trucked along for half a year more before it wouldn't retain any charge. In short I gave the unit a lot of good use but not every single month.With that usage in mind I wanted a good replacement unit. With its good looks, portable design and features this PSX-3 looked like a great product to replace my dead one with.I bought this in late October 2014. When I read through the instructions I was pleased to see it had a trickle charger. I dislike leaving things plugged in 24/7 unnecessarily but if I leave it in for a few days it was good to know no harm should befall the unit. I let it charge for two day's before setting it aside for use when needed and added it to my reminder list of devices that need a once a month charge top off.By late November temperatures were low enough that my car tires needed some extra air to keep the PSI up, it was nearly time for an overnight recharge so I plugged the unit it and the next day went to put air in my cars. 8 Tires needing about 5 to 10 PSI each, no big deal.Within seconds of turning on the compressor for the first tire the unit started to flag showing now charge. I took it upstairs to see how long it would take to charge. The device registered full power within 15 minutes but when running the compressor or even the power meter you could immediately see / hear the unit failing.In short the device Never worked. I contacted the manufacturer in early December when I had a moment. I never received a reply. To this day after multiple attempts I have had no contact from the company. I can accept that I got a lemon and waited to see if I could get a working one before reviewing this but I am stuck with an expensive paper weight I cannot just toss in the trash.I still need a good replacement unit for my original that died and sadly PowerStation has some of the better options but I cannot trust the company who cant even return an email.

It worked well the first year but this started falling apart, first with the needle for the battery indicator not working, then air pressure not working, and now it wouldn't jump start my Nissan Altima even after couple days of charging. Waste of money for a poorly made product that won't last.

I used it only handful of times and it just suddenly died and its useless now.

Great little device to have in emergencies. The air compressor is extremely useful and gets a lot more use than the battery itself. I've used it for several jobs, including dusting out my computer and filling several balls and bike tires.Holds plenty of charge for most people's needs and the light is also useful for nighttime usage or emergencies under the hood.Would definitely recommend this.

Second purchase of this item - first one went missing. I am a 50+ female with little to no skill with "car stuff". That being said I was able to use this item very easily. Instructions are clear & concise and took the "intimidation factor" out of deploying the jump starter. We spend time in rural Oregon & because of this handy little device I was able to get my vehicle up and running with easy & confidence.

Been using this for 2 years now and it's still going strong. I use it regularly (more than 4 times a month) to refill multiple tires in different types of vehicles. Every now and then I hook it up to the charger and forget about it for a few days (since it will trickle charge itself). For jumping it works great. I have jumped big american V8s multiple times in very cold weather, and Jeep Wranglers all on one charge. I always include it in my loadout for any camping or long distance trips I take.it even has power ports for usb or cigarette lighter charging devices.

Small, compact, and handy - already have used it to inflate 2 flat tires, and I have given strangers jumps at least once a month. I think anyone that has to be on the road for any period of time should take the precaution necessary to remain safe and prepared for anything. The unit charges in less than a day and has kept a full charge for a few months. The air compressor is power full and can supply air to a automotive tire in a few minutes.

I've used other jumpstart boxes before, and some of those were found wanting in terms of cranking power. Not this one. And, of course, the built-in air compressor, the DC outlet and the USB charger slot are very convenient.The wife loves it, too, and what more do you want in terms of a testimonial? How often does your wife love a tool you buy?Five stars, and I'd give it more if I could.
