I received it yesterday and decided to try it out in the morning after my shower. The scent is pretty awesome, but the shaving cream did not live up to my expectations when it comes to building up a nice lather. I used a very generous amount, much more than I usually use when using my other shaving creams. It barely lasted me 2 shaves. I applied it to my face using a fine badger brush after making the lather in a porcelain bowl. I'm by no means an expert when it comes to building up a lather as I'm new to the world of safety razors, but I usually get excellent results out of my Art of Shaving and Crabtree and Evelyn products. I probably would not buy this product again, Crabtree and Evelyn are the way to go. I feel like the Crabtree and Evelyn provides better protection for my skin which is probably because I get a better lather out of it. Crabtree and Evelyn so far has the best scents and are the ones with the best lather. I get enough shaving cream out of a dime sized amount of Crabtree product to apply to my face for 3 passes, I used 3 times as much of the TOBS product and couldn't get enough for 2 passes. Crabtree's products are expensive but well worth it. If you decide to buy some Crabtree products, be sure to look up a coupon online, they are always floating out there, and the best scents in my opinion are Nomad, West Indian Lime, and Sienna in that order. ***Update** I took Ajax's advice and instead of making the lather in a bowl like I usually do, I instead dipped the tip of my brush into the shaving cream and then applied it directly to my face. The results were like night and day when compared to making the lather in a bowl. I can honestly say that I had one of the best shaves ever. There was no drag at all, just an awesome smooth shave.
