You can actually see thru them even with the light on. With the adjustable straps they sit well on my forehead. Cons: When worn over the eyes the goggles will hurt your nose. I added some foam padding to stop that discomfort. While you can see thru them your vision will be somewhat distorted and the when the light is turned it obscures your vision a little more. I had to also add some foam padding to the brow area to have it sit better on my face to assist with my vision.
