The writing is so clever and witty in Lord Fenton's Folly, and kept me guessing and laughing all the way to the end. I started out only wanting to read one chapter....and one sleepless night later finished the book. And wow, I am sure glad I did-and you should too!The only thing that I wish...is that **spoiler alert** the characters could have fallen in love with each other earlier...so we could have had some romance in the novel! I know, I know...it is a deeper connection and building a 'genuine' relationship--but I found it a little hard to believe that Lord Fenton was a drunk, but that he was still very virtuous and that the couple had been married over 2 months and had only kissed over the alter...anyway, I wanted at least a few stolen kisses and long glances! But that is just the romantic in me-overall, a great story.However, delightful read and a fun story. I will be reading more of this author (and by the way...thanks for keeping it clean! I appreciate it)! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A wonderful story *by A***S on Reviewed in the United States on September 7, 2016* I was looking for another great proper romance book and I came across this book. After reading the description of the book, I decided to take a chance on it. This story has so many feels and layers to it. When Lord Fenton almost gets disinherited he seeks forgives and redemption with the help of his mother at first then Alice. Through out the story he and Alice have to overcome, pride, selfishness, unkindness, and hatred to those who had wronged them. It may have been a whirlwind of a marriage but through time they build this amazing friendship and unconditional love for each other. Adam learns of all the secrets of the family that plagues him but he also knows he is not alone to get through all this heartache. Some of my favorite parts were when Charles aka Lord Fenton were bantering with each other. This story really is about forgiveness, hope, love, friendship, and learning to let go of things you cannot change including living in the present. Loved how pure and sweet the ending was. Highly recommend this book! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Well-developed characters and plot *by S***R on Reviewed in the United States on June 21, 2016* I gobbled up “Lord Fenton’s Folly” and can’t wait to read more by Josi S. Kilpack. A love story planted in the years of innocent youth, Lord Fenton and Alice Stanbridge continue to cross paths until suddenly, London’s sought-after dandy is pursuing her hand. All is not what it seems, however. Layer on layer of hidden feelings, reasonings, and pride threaten to destroy the friendship and budding love that had started so long ago.Kilpack proved that she is adept at creating multi-dimensional protagonists – as contradictory and layered as any living individual. She allows us to glimpse inside the minds of both Lord Fenton and Alice, revealing the hesitations, both noble and foolish, that bind the hearts and emotions of the two main characters.I also appreciated the backdrop of Regency-era London and the surrounding countryside. Kilpack weaves in a description of the outlandish costumes of the dandy, the enviable trousseau of an almost bride-to-be, and the rigid social customs of that era. Readers also get a glimpse into the roles of the upper class during that time. The lady of the house had so many more responsibilities than I ever imagined!
