Easy to apply with no sanding required, it enhances wood grain while providing durable, eco-friendly protection ideal for floors, furniture, and cabinetry. ## Description OSMO Polyx-Oil (the original Hardwax Oil) is our favorite floor finish and is made from natural oils and waxes. Key ingredients in Hardwax Oil include sunflower, soybean and thistle oil, plus two hard, natural waxes—carnauba and candelilla. A Brazilian palm tree, Copernica cerifera, produces the carnauba in its leaves, berries and stalks. Villagers cut down fronds, dry them for several days, and then beat off the wax. The candelilla comes from the outer coating on a desert shrub, Euphorbia antisyphiliti, that grows in northern Mexico. Farmers boil the leaves and stems with water and acid to release the wax. ## Features - OSMO Polyx-Oil, The original Hardwax Oil from all natural oils and waxes - Clear Stain Matt Finish - 190 Square Feet one coat coverage .75L - Sunflower oil, Soybean oil, Thissle oil, Carnauba wax, candelilla wax ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B003RDW1UY | | Best Sellers Rank | #61,544 in Health & Household ( See Top 100 in Health & Household ) #94 in Wood Conditioners, Waxes & Oils | | Brand Name | Osmo | | Customer Reviews | 4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars (694) | | Item Form | Liquid | | Item Weight | 2 pounds | | Manufacturer | OSMO | | Model Number | 3054075 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Part Number | 493054075 | | Recommended Uses For Product | Interior | | Specific Uses For Product | Cabinet Interiors & Drawers, Engineered & Solid Wood Flooring, Hardwood Floors, Kitchen Countertops & Islands (Wooden), Wood Furniture | | Unit Count | 25.3 Fluid Ounces | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Osmo - **Item Form:** Liquid - **Item Weight:** 2 pounds - **Recommended Uses For Product:** Interior ## Images ![Polyx Hard Wax Oil .75 L (25.3 Fl. Would the water near the sink bother it?** A: It is a fine product but not right for this application if food prep will occur on the counter. Osmo makes a product called Top Oil that has the same properties but is food grade rated. **Q: I previously used 3043 but need some more product. Will the 3054 give me the same finish?** A: I believe so. From what I understand, the 3043 is just the UK version of the 3054. U.S. has the 3054 for satin. I’m using it currently and it performs perfectly. **Q: Has anyone tried wetsanding using the polyx or maybe wetsanding first with the top oil and then several coats of polyx?** A: There are may ways to finish using OSMO, wet sanding is usually not necessary but can depend on your wood species. Polyx and top oll produces the same finish, just Tops oil is food grade so no reason to use both on the same project. Actually need to know what you sanded to prior to applying any first coat and the wood species. Feel free to call us at 302-737-1441 **Q: I have plan to use this for a unfinished tabletop, do I sand the table to 180 or 220 before applying this osmo?** A: stopping at 180 is fine. Don't forget to wipe off the Osmo after initial application. i apply it with white non woven pad ## Frequently Bought Together - OSMO Polyx Hard Wax Oil .75 L (25.3 Fl.
