Here's what you do: When you first get it out of the box, shake it - for at least one minute, little longer if you have the patience. Then, when you dispense it, it comes out creamy, like liquid makeup should. After that, you only need to give it a shake or two each time you use it. This particular shade: medium beige works fine for me this summer, but it will be a bit too dark during the winter. It does an okay job of covering facial blemishes, but really doesn't do much for lines or winkles.
