Review: As an Introduction to the Series - I eyed this particular volume for a very long time before I finally buckled and ordered it. I typically don't like to jump into the middle of a story, which is why I've only picked up the occasional comic book in the past, however I've been interested in this timeline since I found out about Cade Skywalker. The artwork of the first two volumes looked kind of silly, but they definitely nailed down the image they wanted to portray and it's fantastic.It is an extremely dense read, taking me several weeks to finish but I loved every minute of it front to back. I definitely can see myself reading it again later because there's so much I missed and has a lot going on. Anytime a new character or planet was mentioned it took me a while to adjust and I just had to respect that they would explain what was going on to those of us who haven't read the others. By the time I got to the last 3/4 of the book I understood all the characters and backstory that they brought in. I'm really surprised they didn't go with Cade for the sequel series as is in a fantastic twist to the traditional Sith/Jedi/Rebel/Empire dilemma the franchise follows. Who would have thought a pirate would have been the Galaxy's best defender.
