Review: Fresh and huge quantity - I've paid three times as much for a small jar from a grocery store. When I opened this package, I could actually smell nutmeg. I can't say the same when I've opened small jars. In order to keep them as fresh as possible, I just refilled my empty cabinet jar with a few of these nuts and then resealed the package and put them in the freezer. (Nuts have volatile oils that will spoil over time, so the freezer is best for all nuts.) The flavor is beautiful -- soft and fragrant. Not weak, but doesn't 'bite' like some other types of nutmeg (and cinnamon) I've used. I'm sold on Ceylon spices, and these nutmegs did not disappoint in any way. They're large (which makes them actually easier to handle), high-quality nuts in a huge quantity. How could you go wrong with that? (Powdered nutmeg is worthless pantry dust. Keep a nutmeg in your pocket, like Alton Brown does, and grate it on a microplane for a totally different and pleasant experience.)
