## Description

Sixth studio album by the American singer and songwriter, featuring production from BloodPop, BURNS, Axwell and Tchami, among others, and collaborations with Ariana Grande, Blackpink and Elton John. Themes of the album revolve around mental health, healing, and finding happiness through hardship.

Review: Very good - I was initially worried I wouldn't like this album as the lead single Stupid Love took a while to grow on me and it's still probably my least favourite track on here. The second single Rain On Me I liked better but it's also not exactly the most interesting track. I'm happy to report however that I love this album! Gaga has released so many different kinds of music and that's great but Chromatica is very much a return to the dance pop sound of the early years of her career. Honestly I'm happy to hear that again, I would be happy to here whatever she brings to the table but I'm not going to pretend there is no nostalgia factor with this album. Unlike some of those early albums there are no songs that feel like they should have been left out. Every track has it's charm, I especially love her vocal work on this album. The interludes are not annoying parts you want to skip like they are for many albums with interludes and they transition beautifully into the tracks that follow them. Gaga's lyrics are pretty raw here, the album discusses a lot of the things she has been through and many of the songs are quite sad when it comes to the lyrics despite all being upbeat pop songs. Some standout tracks for me. Alice: the first track and possibly my favourite and one of her best openers. Sine From Above: This is the duet with Elton John, I expected it to be a ballad that I would probably skit but it's actually really good. It sounds like some sort of European dance anthem and they both sound great on it. Fun Tonight: This is actually a really sad song that I think might be about her fibromyalgia, it's a wonderful track though the chorus is especially lovely. Sour Candy: I have zero interest in Kpop it just isn't my thing but this collaboration is cute. The song sounds good all five of the people on it sound great, what's not to love? 911: This sounds like something from The Fame and maybe a bit like some of the tracks from Born This Way. With auto-tuned robotic vocals. It's probably the most unique track on here. The only down sides I can think of is that it's perhaps a little bit generic at times with the production. I wish her and her producers had gone a little more crazy with the beats at times. Born This Way did that and while that did result in some messy tracks it also resulted in some of her best work. Some of the tracks could also have been a little longer. I'd give this a 4.5 out of 5 but that's not an option on here and I'm not bumping it down to a 4. If you loved The Fame Monster and Born This Way then give this one a try. It's not her best album but it's her most cohesive and consistently good album in my opinion.
Review: An upbeat return to form - Brilliant album with funky alienpunk artwork. Lots of upbeat tracks in her with thumping beats.
