The Lotus Elan was Colin Chapman and Lotus’ first affordable road car, produced from 1962 and, along with its larger Plus 2 (+2) variant, until 1974. As a replacement for the expensive Lotus Elite, the Elan and Plus 2 were both successful sports cars, which carried Lotus through the 1960s and into the 1970s.
Starting with a brief history of Lotus and the Elan, this book provides a detailed originality guide to the Elan and Plus 2, identifying the design changes Lotus made to the models through their lifetimes. An ‘owner’s guide’ provides detailed information on owning and maintaining the cars in tip-top condition, and gives details of common faults and upgrades. Beautifully produced, full of photos, and a mass of information for any owner of an Elan. Especially good for the +2 variant.

This is a very expensive book and while the photographs are clear they contain little of value. Mainly about his Elan +2 and little in the way of new hints or information. I am not an expert but think I can spot several errors. His last book on the Elan was very similar and suggest as it contains most of the same information may be better value as retails at half the cost

Ridiculously high price for a book which gives no information which cannot be found elsewhere for a lot less money. I wanted info on wheel colours, but no mention whatsoever. A total waste of £45.
