I live in the North East so salt is used to de-ice the roads which rusts everything. Chevrolet does not do a good job at rust proofing the truck frames as most people are aware. I tried scraping and rustoleum paint which just peeled off after a short time. Then I scraped and wire brushed some more and used a product called corroseal. Then used rustoleum top coat. After a time rust starting coming through in spots or I should say most of the frame showed rust again, not as bad as before. Then I used corroseal again and top coat of clear wools wax. This helped quite a bit. But alas some more spots started to show again. So now I bought this black wools wax and really gave the frame a a generous coat inside and outside the frame. Hope this does the trick with just some minor touch up as needed. Bought a dozen cans and used six cans on the frame and above the spare tire. Time will tell.
