They work on almost any spout or nozzle from my glue to caulking. Someone wrote and said that why bother paying for something like this when you can just put a nail down in it to seal it.. I will tell you why for those that still do this because it is "cheap". It isn't cheap! Anytime you have to squeeze your caulk out on a rag to get to the caulk that isn't RUSTED from the nail, you just wasted your money on caulk which was way more expensive than the nail you bought. Whoever came up with this horrible idea is dead wrong. A nail is the worst thing that you can seal caulking with! Probably some ole guy 50 years ago used one as he had nothing else to use and then it became some sort of a "thing to do"?I have lost more caulk due to the "nail trick" and had to squeeze out 5" of rusty caulk before it comes clean. Maybe it would be different with stainless steel nails? I don't know. But I do know this...for the little bit of money you pay to get these red caps, that are re-usable over and over, is small compared to the mess you get when you go to use caulk that has had a nail shoved into the nozzle. I will never go back.I did write this review on my own. I didn't get any discount or anything free. These are awesome- a totally simple idea that just WORKS!! If you are like the rest of us & need to use calking 'every now & then' & end up throwing out most of the tube the next time you go to use it, THIS is the solution!!I have tried EVERYTHING- nails or screws in the tube with foil wrapped around to block the air from getting in, plastic wrap rubber-banded so tightly it leaves an imprint in the tube when you take it off....nothing worked. Leave the tube without using it up for more than 24 hours and it was trash. Not anymore!!! These work GREAT.
