They were kind enough to quickly send me a replacement which worked. So, here's my full review of this product.It's nicely made. Compact and very light. Sound quality is pretty solid but still not as good as a direct auxiliary input by wire. Some of the highs in music didn't seem as sharp. But it does the trick if you need something to work with your older car stereo where you don't need to constantly plug your phone in.I deducted 1 star for the actual product because of the button functionality. It's really hard to tell when it's on and off. The light doesn't stay on while it's working so when you leave the car you have to really press the button down and wait for the bluetooth signal to go away to get verification of it being turned off. That seems like something easily solved by leaving indicator light on while working. Maybe it uses too much battery for such a small device. Not sure. You also have to really press the button down and hold it while synching.
