On the other hand, I also have not remembered enough of it to get by well in a Spanish-speaking country, and need to fix that before a forthcoming trip to an orphanage our church supports in Baja Mexico.To get ready, I've been reading various introductory books about and/or written in Spanish, and this is among the most useful ones I've found, especially at its current price (free.)True newbies might be frustrated by the many words used to illustrate the officially-covered words, but I already knew most of them, so really appreciated seeing each term in the context of the words with which it is normally used.I already know how to pronounce most words in Spanish, so didn't bother to visit the suggested Web site to hear pronunciation.The topics covered are not comprehensive, but do include the words we expect to need most in reading and speaking with children.For anyone wanting another surprisingly effective resource, I also just purchased  My First Spanish Word Board Book/Mi Primer Libro de Palabras en Espanol (My First series) , the favorite book of my bilingual 16 month old grandson, whose mother and nanny speak to him only in Spanish, while the rest of the fmmily speaks to him in English.
