I take a L but bought M and it fits fine. Carharrt sizes come up to the maximum end of size range EG 42 TO 44 is nearer 44. **Q: Is the jacket shower or water proof?** A: Definitely showerproof. It’s good quality canvas type material so it holds out water for a while. Sized down from xxl to xl but bear in mind the fit. The one I received is a regular, relaxed fit and I believe there are quite a few fitting styles and that isn’t mentioned in the description. I’m keeping the jacket but sizing is not as straight forward with this jacket as one would think.
