Great knife for the price!
For $24 this is a great, EDC, medium duty knife. It is a full-size knife with a tall blade. G10 scales are grippy! Axis lock works great, centered, razor sharp!

Great heavy duty knife for the price
This is a great value for the price. It's an imitation of the Lionsteel SR-1. I actually bought this along with the Ganzo 710 because I wanted to test the axis lock (I'm a Cold Steel triad lock fan) but I didn't want to pay the Benchmade premium price. Verdict: I love the axis lock for what it is. That means it's not anywhere near as strong as the CS triad lock. Not even close. However, it has an advantage - this knife swings closed so quickly and easily one-handed, it has a lot of utility if you're constantly using your blade to open boxes or anything else. With a CS blade, closing it one-handed is a 2 step process - you have to press the lock with your thumb and keep your index finger in the groove to stop the blade from chopping off your fingers. With this axis lock, all you have to do is get your fingers out of the way, pull the axis lock down on both sides and, with a flick of your wrist, the blade closes in one motion. This blade has a drop point with a super thick and strong spine (4mm) and a high hollow grind. The blade is not particularly good for piercing due to the thick spine and blade shape, but this is a knife meant more for heavy duty use anyway and I don't mind the lack of piercing capability on this one so much. One thing I like about this blade much more than the Ganzo 710 - if you have your index finger all the way forward in the handle and the blade drops, there is a big enough choil in the blade that it will not cut into your finger. This is not the case on the 710 - if that blade closes even when your index finger is all the way forward in the grip, it will cut into your finger. This is a huge difference for me, as I'm always concerned about finger safety just in case the blade accidentally closes, and I like this feature on this knife. I like the Ganzo 710 for its piercing capability though. Both of these knives have their advantages and disadvantages, and I like them both. The steel is 440C, middle grade stainless, but I like it because of the corrosion resistance, and it sharpens easily. Corrosion resistance on this steel is better than AUS8 - I have blades in both steels, and while my AUS8 developed rust spots, this one has not. Keep in mind - this knife is not a replacement for the tactical value of a CS folder, which has the strongest lockup of any folder I've ever used, but - this axis lock definitely has its advantages if you're using your blade a lot and like closing it quickly one-handed. 5 stars for the $20 price tag. Keep in mind, the pivot screw comes loose if you're constantly playing with the knife - easy fix - apply some blue Loctite on the pivot screws and problem solved.

Big, Beefy, and Sharp
I like this knife. I typically steer clear of imported knives but I bought this one along with a Ganzo G727M (also a really nice knife), because the price was right and I wanted to explore an axis lock style knife. This is a beefy, seemingly well built knife. The knife came hair cutting sharp right out of the box. The blade thickness at the spine is about 4mm. The blade thickness along with the heavy duty liner gives the knife its heft. The spine is ground to 90 degrees and will spark a ferro rod like nobody's business. While I haven't used the knife long enough to determine overall durability I will say that in an ungloved hand the grips will tend to bite into the palm and fingers after any type of long term carving or feather sticking, but then I tend to use a fixed blade knife for most of these chores and rely on a folder as a back up only knife. My local Boy Scout troop only allows folders for the scouts so I might give this knife to my 12yo son to use. He is able to easily deploy and retract the blade. However, one word of caution, if you pull the axis lock back to unlock the blade and then give it a flick with your wrist to close it, make darn sure your pinky finger is out of the way of the closing blade. The blade is hefty and will develop some speed when closing in this fashion. It's not like you'll lose a finger or anything but you might get a minor cut and hopefully a lesson learned. One final thought: This is my first axis lock style knife that I have ever owned. The lock is easy enough to use and provides for a strong blade lock-up, but I am concerned about the long term durability of the tiny wire spring that is used in this type of lock. Only time will tell. Overall, this is a heavy-duty and functional knife for a really reasonable price.
