I'm not specifically a follower of any particular deity, and I really like that although this statue has very strong Celtic links, she's also very clearly an Earth Mother and a strong goddess figure that need not link to any particular cultural tradition. At first I was a little worried about the breastfeeding baby, because I wanted a female figure that transcended baby-bearing years (I have nothing against babies - have 4 of my own darlings and totally identify with the pregnant mother image). I felt that, as my youngest is now 2, I wanted a goddess figure to see me though their rearing and childhood stage - not get caught up on the breastfeeding side of things. Still, she called to me...and I'm so pleased I opened my consciousness to the other ideas that breastfeeding implies. Her face is strong, even mature, and she gives me comfort. I've included a photo of the little baby foot described by another customer...so sweet. Shipping internationally was no problem - she came meticulously packaged and arrived in perfect condition. The base of the bust has felt, so it's safe for even delicate surfaces, but that makes it completely unsuitable for outdoor use. I love having her and her mate on my altar...they really exemplify the feminine and masculine qualities of their genders, but at the same time, they seem to transcend themselves and form a perfect whole together. If you feel at all compelled to this statue, she really is beautiful and I doubt you'll be disappointed. Excellent quality that will make for a wonderful family heirloom Review: Gorgeous! - What to say. She is wonderful!
