Review: Great finish, easy to apply, dries quickly and cleans up nicely. - I've used Rust-Oleum products before, but usually that was limited to metal items (lawn equipment, boat equipment, etc.) I had new windows installed throughout my home and had to paint all the new interior trim, which came primed but not finish-painted. I saw a great price on this Rust-Oleum latex paint and ordered a 2-pack (two quarts.) I was thrilled with the results. Very smooth paint, required almost no mixing when it arrived, and the finish is spectacular. I brushed all the fluted trim and used a foam roller to paint the flat interior surfaces of the trim. Two coats of paint and all my windows look spectacular. The brush and rollers cleaned up easily with warm soapy water. Removing painters tape left clean lines with almost no peeling through 18 windows and a large slider. I was so happy with the paint, I ordered another 2-pack to finish the last few windows and do touch-ups on trim and doors in my home. Excellent product.
Review: Great Paint! - This stuff is amazing!!! I purchased Kona brown. I am doing a full renovation of a fixer upper and needed a budget friendly option. A little does go along way. Great overall appearance. It does start off eggplant purple so don’t be alarmed!!! It dries beautifully. You must sand and prep even lightly at the very least I used their Kona spray paint as a base coat I felt this helped overall. Easy to clean lightly and works great on wood surfaces.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Paint!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The DIYer’s Secret for a Professional Factory Finish: High-Hide, Fast-Dry
*by M***W on May 22, 2025*

The Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch Ultra Cover (Semi-Gloss White) is the industry outlier. It strikes a rare balance of high-pigment "hide" and a self-leveling consistency that makes a $20 quart of paint look like a $200 professional spray job. Whether you are refreshing a dated piece of furniture, touching up baseboards, or sealing a metal garden chair, this is the benchmark for multi-purpose coatings. The Engineering: Why "Ultra Cover" Matters The "Ultra Cover" technology isn't just a marketing buzzword. This is an advanced water-based acrylic formula that boasts a higher solid-to-liquid ratio than standard latex paints. This means you get superior opacity—often covering dark stains or raw wood in just two coats where others would take four. Performance & Application I tested this on a sanded oak nightstand and a primed metal planter. Leveling: The paint flows beautifully. If you use a high-quality synthetic brush, the "ridges" disappear as it dries, resulting in a smooth, semi-gloss sheen that isn't too shiny but offers that "clean, polished" look. Drying Speed: It dries to the touch in 30 minutes. For a high-hide paint, this is remarkably fast. It allows you to finish a project in a single afternoon rather than waiting 24 hours between coats. PROS Incredible Opacity: The pigment density is top-tier. It covers light-to-medium colors in a single pass and dark colors in two. Non-Yellowing Formula: Unlike oil-based whites that turn "ivory" over time, this acrylic formula stays a crisp, bright "refrigerator white" even in areas with low sunlight. Low Odor & Easy Cleanup: Since it’s water-based, the smell is minimal—perfect for indoor projects in small rooms—and brushes clean up with just soap and water. Versatile Adhesion: It bonds exceptionally well to wood, metal, plaster, and even unglazed ceramic.[1] Chip & Fade Resistant: Once fully cured (approx. 7 days), the finish is tough enough to withstand the "knocks and bumps" of daily life on furniture or trim. CONS Dries Fast (Double-Edged Sword): Because it sets quickly, you have to work in small sections. If you "over-brush" an area that has already started to set, you will create streaks. Surface Prep is Mandatory: This paint is only as good as the surface beneath it. On glossy or oily surfaces, it will peel if you don't sand and degrease first. Thick Consistency: Straight out of the can, it can be quite thick. In hot or dry climates, you may need to add a tiny splash of water (no more than 5%) to keep it workable. Overall Input The Rust-Oleum 1993502 is a masterclass in utility paint. It is the "Swiss Army Knife" of my workshop. For the price, you are getting professional-level coverage and a durable, semi-gloss finish that looks expensive. It’s a reliable, bright, and hardworking paint that simplifies the most tedious part of DIY: the finish. Reviewer Pro-Tip: For a "factory-smooth" finish on wood, sand with 220-grit sandpaper between coats. This removes any raised grain or tiny dust nibs. Also, always stir, never shake the can. Shaking introduces micro-bubbles that can ruin the semi-gloss finish once it dries! Who is this for? Furniture flippers, homeowners doing trim touch-ups, crafters, and anyone who wants a "one-and-done" paint that actually covers in fewer coats.
