This collection of 100 2-page essays is a treasure of pearls of wisdom of life written by a broad range of folks from different backgrounds and experiences (from a cab driver to a United States President). Virtually every essay contained something useful to me, and I am using and planning to continue to use this book as a nightstand reader for many years to come. It is a book that elicited these questions, "Why was this book with such powerful and meaningful content not required reading for me in high school and/or college? Why is it not required reading today in our public and private schools and colleges?" It is a book that could have a significantly positive impact on lives --- young and old.One D. Move

    Memory Lane for Some

Although I don't remember the original radio show, I do know of many of the larger than life people who shared their personal beliefs in this collection. It is the best kind of history to hear the words of people like Albert Einstein, Pearl Buck, and Elie Weisel. It's like having a chance to talk to them, pick their brains, and hear their philosophies, even if they are no longer with us. I may have been too young to experience first-hand how these people influenced our history and culture, but, knowing that they did makes these essays that much more powerful.
