Large pieces of firm vegetables, like celery and broccoli, can block the chopper blade. They must be coarsely chopped first, then they are easily chopped more finely in this chopper.. **Q: Wil it grind cooked meat** A: Have not try to. I believe it can but you would need to use a lot of muscle power. **Q: does this work to chop lettuce?** A: Yes **Q: Does this work for lettuce?** A: Yes ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Great for leafy greens *by R***O on Reviewed in the United States on July 15, 2022* I use finely spinach in large amounts frequently and so, was looking for a larger manual chopper. I am able to get a pound of baby spinach done in less than 5min, across 3 times of filling/emptying the bowl. It’s a real time saver when compared to cutting with a knife. I prefer this manual chopper to an electric device given the ease of use.I have not tried other veggies, yet I would guess that the device is capable of doing a good job with other veggies gives it sturdy blades.Happy to own this chopper. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Good Product But Hand Wash *by D***N on Reviewed in the United States on October 20, 2020* This product is well made and durable. It's essentially a manual Cuisinart® type food chopper. That said, you do have to chop things up in small pieces, or else it will jam. Since it's powered by a downward plunge from your hand, you can only pick up so much speed from stop to start and if there are thick things in there like carrots, it isn't going to work. Garlic, quartered onions, quartered peppers, etc. no problem. The rubber gasket on mine fell off, and that's important because you have to use it to keep the bowl steady on the counter. And, don't believe the instructions in terms of dishwasher safe on the top rack. It's not, mine melted on the top rack. I'm still giving it 5 stars because it works well. Just don't put it in the dishwasher. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Easy to clean *by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on June 7, 2021* Love the product, no more cutting vegetables for me! Easy to use. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.pt/products/211408324-manual-food-chopper-express-hand-held-chopper-large-8-5](https://www.desertcart.pt/products/211408324-manual-food-chopper-express-hand-held-chopper-large-8-5) --- *Product available on Desertcart Portugal* *Store origin: PT* *Last updated: 2026-10-21*
