Read the book and get the FACTS about your knee replacement plans and the process of recovery. He doesn't pull punches! Knee arthroscopy "clean up" is useless for most people (including me) in his opinion. Once you are bone on bone you will only get worse over time, that's a fact. Cortisone and Hyaluronic acid injections will only take you so far. KNOW what you are getting yourself into before you commit. BIG KEY: Your Orthopedic Surgeon should have "Fellowship" training, which is RARE! Most people "like me" are ignorant on what this procedure really in fact is and what it does. It is a misnomer to call it a "knee Replacement" I kind of liken it to a "Brake Job". Smooth out the worn parts (i.e. rotors), add new parts that cap over the worn parts (i.e. brake pads). It is NOT a cut above the knee, cut below the knee, take out the old knee, throw it away and install a new one! p.s. I did get this book free from him during my initial consultation BEFORE committing to the surgery.
