Would the joints give and eventually lose the position initially set after too much movement? Thanks** A: I do not ride a motorcycle so I cannot talk from experience. The clamp is effectively a threaded nut so it has a good chance of surviving vibration and movement. Only you can judge the quality of the "adhesion" you get using friciton. The ball joints are held in place wiht friction. That is likely to be your weak point. Personally yours is not a use case I would have gone for. **Q: can you extend the poles or replace them for longer ones?** A: The magic arm is removable and can be taken apart but I do not know where you would get replacement poles. **Q: Can the ball heads be tightened somehow to lock them in place once positioned, or are you simply relying on friction to keep everything in position?** A: When you loosen the wing-nut, the ball joints move around freely in addition to the joint where the wing-nut is.
