## Description

Need to pump the audio output of your laptop through the PA, cleanly? Sweetwater has the device you need: the Radial StageBug SB-5. The StageBug SB-5 is a passive DI that takes an unbalanced stereo signal and sends it through a pair of custom-wound transformers, which balances the signal for cable runs of up to 300 feet. The transformers also isolate the source device - your computer, for instance - from the PA system, to eliminate buzz and hum due to ground loops. The unit is also fitted with a ground-lift switch. Flexible I/O to handle any scenario Input is via a permanently attached 5-foot, 1/8" stereo TRS cable. For output connections, you have a choice of two 1/4" TRS jacks for stereo operation or an XLR that automatically sums to mono. A 15dB pad lets you knock down hot input signals. Whether you're an AV technician or touring musician

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can you use the xlr and trs output simultaneously as a passive aplit or is either/or?**
A: The job of this box is to take a stereo line out (like a Zoom mic or PC— not headphones) and make two balanced lines using 1/4” TRS (one for stereo left and the other for stereo right) so you can go to a mixer or audio console. If you require a XLR input for each left and right, then you need a 1/4” TRS to XLR male to plug into the outputs of this box. This box is passive; it does NOT need phantom power and you would use it at mic level. I hope this helps.

**Q: I have connected one smaller mixer to a larger one, via 1/4" balanced cables. Would this help to eliminate static between the two? Thanks.**
A: That not what it is intended to do. It is designed to connect a computer to your PA system and utilize XLR connection. it works great!!! Don’t know whether it will reduce buzz in that set up.

**Q: I have a stereo feed from an analog snake to a canon g50 camera. the audio input has a slight low-level hum. will this cure it?**
A: No, this unit is to basically connect a playback device that is a mini/3.5 mm jack connection into a microphone input of a mixer. Your hum might be coming from a bad cable along the way.

**Q: Some pics show "mono out" some show "left mono out" is the xlr a summed out or is it just the left channel?**
A: The XLR out is summed.
