It's small enough that she can tuck it into a dark corner in her room, but large enough that she can pack in her wallet, extra keys, important documents (folded neatly, but not wadded up), and a few other trinkets. The box seems solidly built, and the security cable is handy. I would think that a determined thief could rip it apart, but this is true of most lock-box's. The interior is a felted-plastic liner which makes it feel less like a vanilla metal box, and it makes a satisfying clunk when it closes.
