The only drawback is that the gold plating on the front AND back of the boots were slightly scuffed from what appears either someone previously wearing it or rough handling of the shoes when they were being packed in to the box, so that left me quite disappointed. I get plenty of compliments when wearing these about, and have yet to damage the gold parts. If you're wearing it for only an hour, it's pretty comfortable to wear out and a great fashion piece. But for any longer period of time, the shoes become quite uncomfortable at the soles and the front. I ended up with a huge blister on the bottom of my foot at the front from not adding insoles into the boots. It's not enough to buy a size down. As everyone else has said, the gold accents are somewhat scratched, but I doubt anyone would really notice. The synthetic leather is just ok, nothing fantastic.To me, they look a little on the cheap side.The right outfit might class up the boots. I have to admit, they are very easy to walk in, especiallyconsidering the height of the heel. I can't decide if I want to keep them or not. The first day of wearing them I managed to put two scratches on them as well as a dent. It's not like I tried to wear them hiking or anything. I just wore them to work where I sit most of the day. Maybe I kicked a cabinet or something, but I really would have liked it to have held up a bit better. It's only noticable upclose though so it's not a huge deal.
