It's a great towel, very thick, very absorbent, good size where it wraps around my spare tire with ease unlike my other towels which are a tight fit around my 41 inch waiste. Maybe 4 stars on the softness, but I'm a guy, it's perfectly soft for me. My only complaint, and it's a small one, somebody who shall remain nameless insists on throwing a bounce in with this when she runs the drier and the towel smells like poo-pourri. It holds the smell maybe cause it's thick, I don't know, but other than having to dry it separately, not with the sheets and other stuff, it's great. I've ordered another one. Now, it's just been a few weeks so I can't attest to how long it will last but it feels sturdy and I think it will last a long time. Overall - I love it. They are holding up well, are absorbent and thicker than most. This does impart the luxury feeling we seek to share with visitors. One reason why we chose these Cotton Made in Africa ones is because the bath towels are plenty large and satisfying, yet not giant. Some bath towels today are really the size of what used to be called bath sheets. Because our guest retreat has a small stackable washer dryer we sought great quality but no so large the washer would get clogged up when the maid needs to get everything ready quickly for the next guests.I read here that some feel the quality has gone down. We bought these replacements because some disappeared after the last visitors left. Imagine that! We’ll take that as a complement. At first I did not perceive a quality drop. However, the pattern near the ends is barely differentiated compared to the very well-crafted originals.
