I have the Kobo App and my books automatically sync to my Kobo Nia via my kobo account. The only way to download from amazon is if your ereader has Internet access where you can download the kindle app onto it. I could do that when I had the Kobo Arc as that worked basically the same as a tablet. You can download library books onto a Kobo, but you can't on a kindle. I found using my smart phone worked well as an ereader so if you have a smart phone, download the kindle and the kobo apps and you have the best of both then, or if you don't want an ereader, get a decent tablet with good storage and put the apps.on that and use that as your ereader instead. Overdrive works perfectly as you can search and download inside it.
