Some races are team based, and then some are solo and do things like how many posts can you drive close to without hitting them and gain more points if you're close to posts - gaining more if you perform a drift near a post. There's a map/story mode, as well as just regular races to do. If you play solo than you will get bot teammates for anything that is team play. This is different than Mario kart, but I think good different. I like it equally as well as Mario Kart. It actually has a story mode, not just racing. My family enjoys Sonic racing also. I think it may be a little more challenging than kart so younger racers might like kart more, but older kids and adults would like this Sonic racing game I think.
