I have used other brand rechargeables without a problem. **Q: How many watts does the charger draw? Does it depend on how many batteries are charging? After getting this device, I now love dependable Duracell rechargeable batteries. Get my drift? **Q: Do you have to leave the batteries in the charger after fully charged? When i take them out and go to use them a week later they did not hold the char** A: Once they're charged, remove them from the charger. Unfortunately, rechargeable batteries tend to slowly discharge even while not being used. That's just an inherent condition. I would suggest that several hours before the next time you plan on using the batteries to recharge them. This was purchased to knock down the CONSTANT NEED of buying more and more batteries that won't last 10 days and wind up in the recycling bin.The build quality appears excellent on the charger and the batteries. The weight of the charger leads me to believe it's not a cheap piece of junk. If this is as durable as it looks and feels, it will pay for itself in less than 6-8 weeks.The charger is simplistic to use and even better, has (2) USB ports which allow me to leave it plugged in on top of my dresser and still be able to plug my phone in every night and plug in the 9v battery charger and 4 batteries I bought as I'm truly sick of continually needing to buy replacement batteries for the myriad of battery devouring electronics in my house. This charger accepts both AA & AAA batteries and is simplistic to use. You leave them in until the little LED turns from red to green (indicating a full charge) and you have recharged batteries all ready to use!I immediately was able to put some of these batteries to use, and they fit well and function well. I've used my TENS unit for a few hours with 3AAA batteries which is longer than I'd get out of premium alkaline AAA batteries!
