It's really not a strong adhesive. I've had mine on for a few months, and decided to switch it to the back door, and it came off easily. No residue was left behind, and nothing was damaged. **Q: Would this work for French Doors?** A: I would advise you not to purchase it. Mine only lasted about two week before my dog who weighs around 25 lbs, had it all torn up.
