## Description

This is a 12 inch x 12 inch x 0.04 inch see-through acrylic mirror. It can be used to make a smart mirror, an infinity mirror, used for surveillance, for theatrical applications, or whatever else you can think of. This kind of mirror is also known as a two-way mirror or sometimes as a one-way mirror. It is made of acrylic which is naturally shatter resistant, making a safer alternative to glass. Note: Make sure you peel off the protective plastic covering from both sides before use.FAQ:1. What is a two-way mirror?A two-way mirror is coated with a thin, almost-transparent layer of metal. The result is a mirrored surface that reflects some light and is penetrated by the rest. Light always passes equally in both directions. However, when one side is brightly lit and the other is dark, the darker side becomes difficult to see from the brightly lit side because it is masked by the brighter reflection of the lit side.2. How do you cut it?The acrylic can be cut, but be careful not to damage it. I recommend leaving the protective covering on the mirror until you finish cutting and even then you may still damage the mirror in the process. You can use a plexiglass cutting tool, a razor blade, a dremmel, or a laser cutter. For a plexiglass cutting tool or a razor blade, use a straight edge and do 6-10 passes cutting all the way to the edge of the acrylic.Finally, please pay attention to care instructions on the information label attached to the mirror.3. How do you clean it safely?The reflective side doesn't have a protective coating, so avoid wiping it with anything if possible. To decrease the need to clean the reflective side, face the non-reflective side outward. To clean the non-reflective side, use a completely clean microfiber cloth together with Zeiss 50% isopropyl alcohol. Or, if you are able to, an even better option is Novus 1 Plastic Clean & Shine together with Novus Polish Mates or Kimwipes.

Review: Good material, packaged well - I used this with a laser cutter to make some perforated plastic lenses for a Halloween mask. It cut incredibly cleanly, and the plastic protective coating on both sides prevented any scratches or marring during the process. Even without the perforations, the plastic is transparent enough to see through. The only downside is that I ordered a sheet that was a little too thin and therefore it's easy to break if flexed, but that is buyer error and not the fault of the manufacturer. Can't beat the price for the quality of the material. Just remember to remove the film on each side after cutting.

The only issue is that the very slim thickness (0.04 inches) makes it pretty fragile. Other than that, very nice, useful, and pretty easy to trim to size! And MUCH lighter than a glass mirror!

- Acrylic can scratch fairly easily. Please treat with care. If you expect some wear, face the back of the mirror so that it will receive the wear. If the back receives wear, you can potentially buff it out; however, if the front receives wear, it can remove the reflective coating. I used this with a laser cutter to make some perforated plastic lenses for a Halloween mask. It cut incredibly cleanly, and the plastic protective coating on both sides prevented any scratches or marring during the process. Even without the perforations, the plastic is transparent enough to see through. The only downside is that I ordered a sheet that was a little too thin and therefore it's easy to break if flexed, but that is buyer error and not the fault of the manufacturer. Can't beat the price for the quality of the material. Just remember to remove the film on each side after cutting.

I got this for a personal project that required mirrors, in particular a mirror I could see through, and it works REALLY well for that purpose. The only issue is that the very slim thickness (0.04 inches) makes it pretty fragile. Other than that, very nice, useful, and pretty easy to trim to size! And MUCH lighter than a glass mirror!

### ⭐⭐⭐ Will Crack Easily - Exercise Extreme Care While Cutting!

The sheet feels well made. I took the time to apply masking tape on both sides of the sheet over the cut lines before Scoring the cut. However, I was unable to prevent a crack from propagating towards the center of the usable area of my smart mirror. As a result my first encounter with this product promptly went into the trash. Second, the sheet has to be cut 1 mm less than the inner dimensions of the mounting area. If not, the sheet will distort and the reflected images will look like those in an amusement park. Therefore make sure that your seating area has enough lip to accommodate a smaller dimensions of the sheet. OK, which side is which? The manufacturer has a label on the sheet with a bar-code on it. There is clear enough information on how to identify the sides of the mirror. I like this item and ordered another one. Maybe I must use a Jigsaw this time? I wish it was a bit more inexpensive.
