The other book I bought, Metal Detecting, also available from desertcart, is from 2016, which is this book's first edition's date. Both are good books, some content varies, some very similar, but my takeaway is a reinforcement of essentials, with refinements in both, The Metal Detecting Bible is more valuable from a timeline perspective of information. I had the Minelab Vanquish 540 recommended to me, and NOW it's my machine. A far newer system than an old Garrett I used for work many years ago, so I felt like I needed some educational assistance to catch up with my new hobby.
