Q: How big are these actually? how can the description be giant bugs but they cause a choking hazard. it does not compute.

The bugs are a fairly large size and I don't think a child could choke on the whole bug. Some of the bugs have wings or other parts that can come unattached and I guess those may be small enough to choke on. They do snap right back together. My grand kids loved these.
