After the new one arrived I opened up the old unit. You just need a long philips screw driver. There are about 8 screws. It comes apart easily but be careful so you see where all the wheels and belts go. The battery pack is a set of 6 batteries packed together. Overall it is 7.2V 1.3 Ah, 20 A Fuse. They are Ni-CD. There isn't a part number. This claims to be compatible and the picture does look like the same size, geometry and connector. https://www.amazon.com/ZZcell-Battery-Compatible-Bissell-Cordless/dp/B07JZD1CDW/ref=sr_1_3 **Q: How do you know when its time to charge. The red light, when charging, never shuts off** A: Recharge only when moves slowly. I charge over night for 12 hours or when red light turns off. **Q: Can I keep this sweeper plugged in 24/7 or will it run the battery down in time?** A: Not sure but I don’t do it. I just recharge and unplug when finished. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.pt/products/2270363-bissell-2880a-sweeper-perfect-sweep-turbo-cordless-1-count-pack](https://www.desertcart.pt/products/2270363-bissell-2880a-sweeper-perfect-sweep-turbo-cordless-1-count-pack) --- *Product available on Desertcart Portugal* *Store origin: PT* *Last updated: 2026-10-24*
