A: I’ve only worn the captains for a week. But, I wear other boots and have noticed how quiet these are. I have not checked the material. But I think the sole and heel are probably dense rubber.

**Q: length from arch to top of shaft**
A: This boot falls into the category of 6” boots. If you want a specific dimension, buy them and check it yourself.
