I might drill a hole and add another pop rivet to secure it better to the shaft. The Silverado works for what it was designed for. I have used it several times, just drop it over the ball and pull back.

Silverado Ball Retriever was a little heaver then I thought it would be also the retriever end is not attached very securely.
