Wheeler Engineering designed in my opinion the best thought out scope leveling kit available. I have a few other wheeler products, including their FAT wrench and a scope lapping kit that included their Level-Level-Level set. I personally think that the extra money I spent on this kit far outweighs the lower price and convenience of the LLL. As far as the product goes, I received it without damage and well packaged. The product is packed well in a hard black case with fitted grey foam supporting the levels. The levels themselves are well machined, with a lustrous gold finish and clear well centered level tubes. The barrel level is well designed, and secures easily to the barrel. A fine leveling knob is located on the top level to ensure perfect indexing. This kit is easy to use, accurate and durable. My concerns arose when I noticed that I wasn't able to get a scope leveled properly with it, and I realized that the smaller, magnetic level has a slight machining defect on the bottom face, slightly skewing the reading. My solution to this was a slight touch up with fine grit sandpaper, and using a permanent marker to designate the which face of the top level will be pointing in which direction. I also have been using a small adhesive color coding label folded in half to keep the top level secured to my scope if it is not a ferrous metal. With those small discrepancies, this product is excellent and I would recommend it to anyone. I would certainly buy it again and I will continue to consider buying Wheeler products in the future. It looks like you could attach this clamp at any position 360 degrees around the barrel?** A: If you follow the instructions, it works very well. True, you could attaché the large part to the barrel of your rifle in any way you can imagine. But, here is what you do. Firmly secure your rifle, preferably in a gun vise/rest. Put the large clamp on level on the gun barrel snug but not tight. Place the small level on the scope mount base (before you put the scope on). Adjust the gun until it is level according to the small level. Secure the gun so it does not move. Adjust the clamp on level so it shows level just as the small one then tighten it down. You have now secured level on the rifle. Now you can put the scope on with the scope rings and tighten them down until snug but still able to rotate the scope. Look at the clamp on level and adjust the rifle in the rest/gun vise until it shows level. Put the small level on the top turret and rotate the scope in the rings until it is level. Check both levels to make sure they agree. Finish tightening the scope rings. You are finished. Note: on some scopes you may have to remove the cap on the turret to find a level surface. Some caps are rounded. DO NOT put the small level on the scope rings. You want to level the scope, not the rings. The rings are automatically aligned with the mounting base. Hope this helps. Worked for me. **Q: My question is...what is the top adjustment on the barrel clamp used for..??** A: The top adjustment is for fine adjustment of the level after the barrel clamp is tightened in case it moves during tightening, you just adjust it back to level with out having to loosen it up again **Q: Do you only level the reticle with this? Or can you use this to level your scope to your rifle as well?..** A: Not sure what you are asking. The purpose of this tool is to "level" the scope to the rifle action and barrel. What it actually does is help to orient the horizontal cross hair of a scope in plane (or level) with the rifle action. If your scope is in proper working order it will automatically "level" the reticle. It is not designed as a shooting level and cannot be left on the rifle when shooting. There are levels for that purpose and they generally attach to the scope tube to help you level your rifle when shooting. Vortex makes a really good one. This tool works well enough though it takes some practice and reading of the instructions several times. I recommend you search the internet for some video. **Q: How's the quality control? I am surprised that a lot of people blindly trust that a level is level without doing the 180 degree test.** A: Well the one that clamps to barrel doesn't matter if it is level or not, it is put on after u level off receiver cause once u put scope on u will most likely not be able to leave the receiver level in place so it doesn't matter if barrel level is off u are just clamping on so bubble is in middle, now when u level scope u make sure barrel bubble is in center, as far as reciever level, u will have to check it and if it is off u will have to find where bubble is when level and hold off for it, the main thing system is good for is having reference point off barrel so u can level scope, better system is v tool that rests on barrel and u line cross hairs of scope with line on tool, remember that turrets on scope may not be level with cross hairs in scope. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good Product *by L***R on August 6, 2017* Foremost, this is a good product, but I do have some concerns with it.
