Review: Internet Images a bit misleading. - I came across this Kotobukiya ARTFX+ series by accident, either here on desertcart or on YouTube, I can't remember, and the thing that drew me to this statue set over say the DC Collections figures was the so-called "metallic" paint job. Well, I'm here to say that the images on the Internet and review vids on YouTube are a bit misleading...but actually in a good way. And by that I mean, the "metallic" paint isn't all that metallic. It's just regular glossy paint, rather than flat paint. But when uses in conjuncture with flat paint on the models, it stands out. So understand this...if you're wondering whether or not to purchase this series and are worried that the "metallic" paint may look a bit cheesy...have no worries, because they aren't as near as shiny as these product pics make them appear to be. Now then, with that said, this Batman statue....It's pretty bad ass. Nice sculpt, finely detailed, even on the shiny paint part...you can see seems in the costume. Nice use of the paint, both in the over all costume, and the accessories, such as the utility belt. The cape sculpt is nice and aides in the stability of the figure. The only thing I would have changed, would be the size of the cowl ears. I know it's probably a feature of the New 52 design, but I think the ears are a bit short. I'd have gone another mm or so. Some have said that the face sculpts show a bit of an Asian look, well, yeah, they do, but with Batman, with his cowl covering most of his face, you can't really tell with this figure. With all that said, and in closing, if you're looking for a nice set of DC Justice League figure set to collect for display, and not for play, look no further than this set. The vibrant paint jobs, the solid builds of the statues, and quality of the sculpts, make this set worthy of the adult collector. Review: This is how action figures should look! - This is a very classy and stylish figure that, while not articulated, allowing for different poses (it doesn't need to be...this guy looks awesome just standing there) still screams "steel-cold conviction".The lack of articulated limbs, while a sticking point for some buyers is, for me, a plus, as you don't get the artificial, robot-like elbows and knees,wrists and shoulders. Limbs look natural and authentic. I have not taken this figure out of its protective casing as I have a feeling that these Kotobukiya figures (from the "New 52" series) are going to escalate in value over the years. Hell, for what they're selling for now, you could almost afford to get one for display and one for future sale. The entire New 52 series figures are very well done, and look incredible posed together. I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my Superman figure in the next week, and most certainly will be getting the Flash and Green Lantern figures as well.I would like to see Kotobukiya bring out some more classic figures like Spiderman and Captain America, or the Fantastic Four, at this price point. I am so glad that there are collectible, nice looking statues that are NOT action figures and are not priced too high. I bought Flash for my husband and we have since gotten the whole Justice League. Batman is the biggest because of his cape. (I am comparing to Green Lantern, Flash, Superman, Aqua Man and Wonder Woman). They are shiny, cool and very bright.
