Recently was reassembling a large pump ,one of the snap rings was 3 1/4 inches od. I grab the shop set , tried the biggest pair in the set.The shop set plies are 10 inches long, I could not squeeze the pliers enough to close the snap ring to install it. Frustration was mounting. I walked over to my draw that has my Knipex pliers, grabbed the 7 1/4 inch pair internal pliers, it took 1 try to install the ring, snapped right in. The Knipex should have been the first 1 out of the gate. Buy these you will not regret the purchase !!! If I could give more stars I would. Working on a tractor I struggled getting inside and outside rings to cooperate. It took me 3x as long as it should due to slippage and being unable to grip the ring easily. After purchasing the Knipex tools, I kicked myself repeatedly for not having these in the first place!
