Review: The Bash is one solid sledgehammer - I liked my Wilton Sledgehammer as it performed exceptional, so I purchased their hammers in other weights. The handles are incredible smooth to handle and absorb some of the hammering impact. Since the handles aren't made from wood, they won't warp or split over time. The steel heads are strong and haven't cracks or chipped to date. I've been using them in an open pit agate mine wherein I've been removing large rocks by splitting them with hammer and chisel. These are by far the best hammers I've ever used. I've read other reviews stating that the balance was off on certain hammers, but the real issue is: take care in selecting the appropriate hammer-head weigh versus the handle length for your applications and your own arm strength. If you use those parameters in selecting your sledgehammer, you will find the right item. I have not been paid by desertcart or Wilton to review these items favorably. I love this product line and will order other weights in the near future. They are expensive compared to other sledgehammers, but worth the price based on their superb quality and balance. Buying cheap is more expensive long-term, and quality tools outperform there cheaper counterparts in many instances.

Splitting wedges, this sweet sledge, and my trusty splitting maul. I split about 20 cords of wood this year, which is quite a bit. Most all of the wood I split is 15-30" rounds, almost all of it needing to be split in half with a sledge & wedges. It's all hardwood (oak, etc) - so the BASH sledge gets a lot of very hard use. I've more than put this through its paces, and it's gonna last a lot more years. Handle is in great shape (there aren't many mis-strikes to speak of) - and the head is very firmly on like when it was unpacked new. So, all in all this is a great product and I'd recommend it. Kinda pricey, but I like to buy once cry once. As one last note - this is a 10LB head, but the handle does add some decent heft to it, since it has steel rods in it. So, it will probably weigh more than you think. But hey, I'd rather have a product that lasts the test of time than have to go buy handles every year or so.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best sledge hammers on the market!

I used to work at a rock quarry, which is a work environment that will quickly crew up and spit out any inferior tool used there. These Wilton BASH sledge hammers were the only hammers we used that would not die. Over strikes are not a problem with the steel handle, the head will not come flying off and hit your buddy thanks to it’s unique head retention system, it’s absorbs shock much better than wood handled sledges and the rubberized handle makes it easy to grip and not slip out of your hands when covered in grease or oil. (Once again, your buddy will thank you for not doing that). Now, as a shop Diesel mechanic, I have invested in Wilton BASH sledge hammers for all of these reasons. Swing em’ as hard as you like. They will not let you down.
