So I would say that to a point it is easy to use, but on some things like saving a separate drum set and naming it, I just learned that. The price is amazing for all the things that this can do and I still have yet to learn how to do. Yes, I love that this is portable and runs on batteries if I want to play with drum sets out of my computer room. I would say sound quality is good, but it really depends on your setup: are you listening through a left over mackie speaker like I have or studio headphones?
